Sydney Opera House

(I received the card from Aga and Greg - Australia)

The reference cited hierein

“Sydney Opera House stands by itself as one of the indisputable masterpieces of human creativity, not only in the 20th century but in the history of humankind” (International Council Report on Monuments and Sites to the World Heritage Committee).

On 28 June 2007 the Sydney Opera House was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List under the World Heritage Convention, placing it alongside the Taj Mahal, the ancient Pyramids of Egypt and the Great Wall of China as one of the most outstanding places on Earth.

It is the youngest cultural site to ever be included on the World Heritage List and one of only two cultural sites to be listed during the lifetime of its architect, Jørn Utzon (1918-2008).

Countries Listed by Continent

(The picture taken from here)

I left postcrossing for 5 years now with more than less 5000 postcards in my collection. I found out that almost a half of collections are not my taste/wish any longer. But for sure, I will keep them. I like the writings in there. For this reason, I am now doing the swap after the list. In a hope that the collection will grow better than before.

Anyway, I will only upload the cards that I like. I noticed it consumes a lot of time. I regret not to do this since I have started postcrossing. Haha.

Well, it will be fun! I will do the cross-check for the countries that I have received written and stamped postcards as well.

Postcard, UNESCO and Why?

(UNESCO Germany)

Back to Postcrossing, Why?
.
Lately, I feel in need of doing something to activate my brain. I am trying in many ways, including through social media. I still like traveling and it helps a lot refreshing my mind and then my focus.

As I tend to like something related to the history, or, learning something new, then poscrossing comes to my mind. Why not? I have been there long time ago and I think it is still interesting. I have learnt many things through Postcrossing, too.

What Do I Collect and Don't?

I am collecting various of cards related to:

- History (including WW I, WW II)
- Countries (including the capital, map, flag, and, about the country)
- Architecture (including building, bridge, door, window, street view)
- People (including traditional costume, dance, activity)
- UNESCO (as the list below)

I am not collecting such this cards:
